I found a well written and interesting piece in the NY Times yesterday regarding NYC Mayor Bloomberg's ban on sugary drinks over 16 oz. A few days ago, I wrote about this stating that I did not agree with the ban. After reading this article, I'm on the fence. We do have a serious problem in this country with obesity (I never doubted that we did) but I'm still not sure if this ban will lead to the intended outcome. Anyway, here's the article from the times.
And I also found this today. I knew that this was the plan of Walker and his Koch masters all along. As Robert Reich wrote eloquently in his piece earlier in the week, I also fear that the goal of today's GOP is to repeal every piece of New Deal and progressive legislation that they can. They are doing an excellent job so far.
